"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." -St. Augustine
To kick off our summer vacation, we went to Dubai and the first two weeks were already eventful. We went to tons of places. Burj Khalifa, a.k.a. the tallest building in the world, was absolutely stunning. The airport made me drop my jaw and vomit rainbows. Heck, I didn't even know air conditioned waiting sheds existed until I went here.
But another thing that made me want to migrate here- the malls.
This is legit, okay- my aunts' flat is surrounded by two malls. Two, gigantic malls. We're right behind the department store and grocery. There are malls everywhere. Shop 'til you drop.
Dubai also has this Outlet Mall which sells products at their factory prices, so they're really cheap. If you're patient enough, you'll find one-of-a-kind pieces. The high-waisted shorts and shoes I'm wearing above are products of hard work, since I had to search at the very back parts for the shorts, and we had to go to almost every shop to find shoes that I'd like, and, well, fit me. Having midget feet has its disadvantages.
Today we went to Miracle Garden and Dubai Festival City (another mall). Miracle Garden is such a beauty and we're lucky to be able to visit it because it will only be open until this week- they'll be closing it since it's too hot because it's summer and the flowers would wilt.
We ate a late lunch at Dubai Festival City, another one of the many gigantic malls here in Dubai.
Although we've been to so many places here in Dubai, we haven't really visited it thoroughly. Climbing the top of the Burj Khalifa and seeing Burj Al Arab close-up is on my list.
Anyway, there's a bazaar coming up this Saturday, and I hope to get some really good finds.
Oh, and the Justin Bieber is coming to Dubai for a two-day concert (May 4 & 5). I hope I get tickets *crossed fingers*.
Well, I guess that's much about it. See you.
